''We help farmers to increase the productivity and quality of cocoa.''
We help farmers to increase the productivity and quality of cocoa. Together with the Cacao Horizons Foundation, we provide farmers with access to training programs, farming tools and financial grants. Beyond that, local communities are supported in building and furnishing classrooms, child protection and providing health insurance for thousands of farmers and their families.
''In Tanzania, the cocoa buyers per district are elected by the farmers themselves.''
Van Soest stands for transparent pricing and fair business. In Tanzania, the cocoa buyers per district are elected by the farmers themselves, usually a fellow villager who has the trust of the farmers. Farmers are also offered training to produce good quality cocoa and to ensure sustainable and responsible production.
In Lubele, close to Kyela, lies the school with recently build classrooms, of which three are currently still under construction. At this school, 1350 students get education because of the support that is provided. 90% of the parents from the children at this school work on the cacoa plantations.
